Principles
- Freedom within limits
- Create a “yes” space by arranging furniture in such a way that it fences of a large area where the child can be free to move around but not outside.
- Another idea here is allowing freedom of movement. This includes not putting your baby in baby holding devices like bouncers, high chairs etc and allowing them to have freedom of movement. Just get them a blanket or safe space on the floor where they can play, crawl and stretch out.
- Observe don’t disturb
- When your child is engrossed in something don’t interrupt them. Not even to give a compliment. Allow them to have uninterrupted concentration time. Just observe, don’t disturb
- Peace through our children
- Avoid exposing your child to play things that promote violence. This could be books, toys or television shows. Sure, it's important to talk to them about this stuff when they get old enough but before they are old enough to distinguish what is right and wrong and what is real or not for themselves protect them from it.
